Possibility

A different shape for a working week.

Long commutes, screens from first light, costs that keep climbing. Plenty of people in tech still love the work — they are just asking where else it could happen.

More room in the day

A swim before stand-up. A walk after pick-up.

For some households, a regional move means getting time back. Whether a particular place would do that for yours depends on the commute, the role and the home — which is what Region Shift is being built to help you check.

Purposeful work

Moving shouldn't mean stepping back.

The work still matters. Region Shift is being designed to put career and household side by side, so neither is an afterthought.

  1. Practical relocation information

Housing, commute, schools and services for each location, published only once it can be checked against verified sources.

  2. Curated tech roles

A short, reviewed list of technology roles connected to the Sunshine Coast. Planned — not yet live.

  3. Employer opportunities

A way for local employers to introduce themselves to people already weighing up the move. Planned — not yet live.

Family and community

Time together, closer to home.

Saturday markets, long lunches outside, kids with sand on their shoes. The everyday things people often move for.

Relocating is more than finding a job.

When it comes to the practical comparison, Region Shift is being designed to help you consider the whole household.

  • Housing

Where your household could live, and what that could involve.

  • Connectivity

Internet and transport links that support technology work.

  • Schools

Schooling and childcare options for children of different ages.

  • Healthcare

Access to GPs, hospitals and specialist services.

  • Lifestyle

Community, outdoors and the everyday rhythm of a place.

  • The whole household

A partner’s work, family ties and everyone’s needs, not just one job.

A clearer way to assess a move

Three planned steps. These describe how Region Shift is intended to work as these features become available.

  1. Planned

Planned step 1: Set your priorities

Note what matters most to your household, such as work, housing, schools, healthcare, connectivity and lifestyle, before looking at any one place.

  2. Planned

Planned step 2: Compare Sunshine Coast locations

Look at the eight locations against those priorities, using information that is published only once it has a verified source.

  3. Planned

Planned step 3: Explore relevant roles and employers

Review curated technology roles and employers connected to the Sunshine Coast, so a move can keep your career on track.
